Sorbet series began with painting over an existing painting or stained panel, so hints of this other life would peek through the new work, hints of what was, what lies beneath. I like to think of the underpainting as a part of life we’ve been hanging onto for too long. A simple horizon line represents your new, desired destination, adventure to choose, it’s your journey. The title Sorbet is because this series is transitional for me to new works, ideas. It allows me to play with the encaustic medium, and this is where new things, new ideas, new journey begin.
